Manfred Wordtmann (Havixbeck/Germany) studied at the Münster Academy of Music, graduating with a Master degree in music in 1980.
Since 1977 he has been working as a saxophone teacher at the University of Münster.

Since 1986 he has been performing in concerts at home and abroad with the organist and composer Hans-Martin Limberg and did two concert tours in Japan in 1997 and 1998 with the concert pianist Noriko Kitano. He works as a co-editor with the sheet music publishers Noetzel in Wilhelmshaven and Tonger in Cologne.

In 1994 he founded the CD label “Piper Records”. There are now 21 recorded items (CDs and DVDs) on offer, particularly in the realm of music for saxophone and piano/organ, but also CD editions of various instrumental combinations: string orchestra – string quintet – clarinet/organ – electronic guitar/organ – trumpet/organ – saxophone/harp – saxophone/vibraphone – saxophone/violin – saxophone/transverse flute – singing/organ – balalaika/organ – recitation/organ – transverse flute/organ – bassoon/organ – recorder/saxophone – saxophone/mey balaban – solo saxophone – solo organ. Since 2000 the sheet music publisher “Piper Prints” has been in operation, which publishes predominantly Wordtmann’s own compositions and arrangements for saxophone in various combinations. Since 2004 Wordtmann has been the artistic director of the concert series “Musik zur Marktzeit” (music on market days) of his hometown Havixbeck in Germany. Since 2009, there have been numerous publications on YouTube.
